The following rules are for Mike's house.
(1) Ground Balls- Ground balls that hit the curb on either side of the driveway across the street is a base hit. Ground balls that go over those same curbs are also base hits. If a ball is hit in the driveway the fielder can field the ball anywhere in front of the homerun marker. However, once it passes the homerun marker it is a base hit.
(2) Fielding Homeruns- If the batter hits a possible homerun ball, the fielder can catch the ball as long as their feet are in front of the homerun marker. If they are behind the homerun marker when they catch it, it is a homerun. If a player attempts to dive for a possible homerun ball and they catch it, their feet must land in front of the homerun marker for it to be an out. If their feet land behind the homerun marker, it is a homerun.
(3) Foul Tips- If the batter has two strikes and they foul tip the ball into the strikezone (chair), then it is an out.
(4)Double Plays- If the batter hits a fly ball behind the first cone and the fielder catches it, they can attempt to throw the ball and hit the chair for a double play.
(5) Foul Line- The point where the curb meets the crack is considered third base. Just as in the Major Leagues, if a ground ball is hit and stays fair when it passes third base and then goes into foul territory, it is fair.
(6) Fly Balls Near the Plate- If a batter hits a fly ball anywhere in front of the first cone and the fielder attempts to catch it, the people on the batting team cannot yell, pretend to swing their bat, or do anything to distract the player, or it will be an automatic out.
(7) Fielding Ground Balls- If the batter hits a ground ball to the fielder, they must field it without it hitting the ground for it to be an out. This also means that the fielder can bobble it and still make an out, they just have to field it without dropping it on the ground.
(8) Srikezone- The strikezone of the chair consists of the seat, the back, the armrests, and the section of the poles that is above the seat of the chair. Anything that hits below the seat of the chair is not a strike. |
