Eminem cancels tour due to exhaustion
AP - Eminem, who last week wrapped up his American Anger Management tour, has cancelled his European tour, citing exhaustion and other medical issues, his record label said.
In a brief statement on Tuesday, Interscope Records said Eminem was scrapping the tour, which was supposed to kick off Sept. 1 in Hamburg, Germany, and end Sept. 17 in Dublin, Ireland. There were 10 concerts scheduled.
"Eminem is currently being treated for exhaustion, complicated by other medical issues. The shows are not expected to be rescheduled," the statement read.
Eminem's publicist, Dennis Dennehy, told The Associated Press he had no further information on the best-selling rapper's condition, and couldn't say whether he was hospitalised or what other medical issues he had.
"We just want to get the word out that these tour dates are being cancelled," he said. "Hopefully we'll have some news later on."
Eminem, 32, just ended his summer tour with rappers 50 Cent and Lil Jon on Aug. 13 with performances in his hometown of Detroit. Dennehy said it was unclear when the decision was made to cancel the European tour.
Last month, Eminem denied a report that said he was planning to retire after releasing four multiplatinum albums, including his latest, "Encore." But he did say he might be taking a breather from his multiplatinum career.
"When I say I'm taking a break, I'm taking a break from my music to go in the studio and produce my other artists and put their albums out," Eminem said on MTV's web site.
"When I know my next move, I'll tell everyone my next move. Not some reporter who writes a story about 'This is Eminem's last album.' I never said ('Encore') was my last album.

Mariah hits back at Eminem lampoon
Diva Mariah Carey has hit out against badboy rapper Eminem, after it was reported that he has been playing a personal answerphone message she left for him, on stage during his concerts.
Apparently Eminem, who is currently on his third Anger Management tour, has been playing a recording of Mariah's message, which is supposed to have been left after their alleged relationship four years ago.
During the concerts the rapper, also known as Slim Shady and Marshall Mathers, has been playing an excerpt of Mariah's hit song, We Belong Together, before playing the voicemail.
Fans at the concert can hear what is claimed to be a desperate Mariah saying: "I heard you were getting back with your ex-wife. Why won't you see me? Why won't you call me? You're not calling me."
This is followed, delightfully, by Marshall pretending to be sick, before launching into his song, Puke.
Mariah's manager, Benny Medina, told the New York Post: "While we appreciate Eminem as an artist, lately his work has seemed tasteless and unnecessarily mean-spirited.
"The public seems to agree - just look at his declining record and concert ticket sales."
Though Mariah has always denied that they were ever an item, Eminem admitted in 2002 that something had been going on, but it failed because he didn't "like her as a person".

Eminem endorses Detroit mayor
Detroit's embattled mayor has been endorsed in his re-election bid by rap superstar Eminem.
At a hometown concert before 42,000-plus Friday at the city's Comerica Park, Eminem gave an on stage shout out to Kwame Kilpatrick, who he said was attending the show.
The rapper urged the crowd to make some noise for the mayor, y'all, the...hip-hop mayor! Noting the blend of cheers and boos that greeted his request, Eminem acknowledged a little bit of mixed reaction from the crowd.
Kilpatrick has been embroiled in several controversies during his term in office and is facing stiff competition for the November election from former Detroit deputy mayor Freeman Hendricks.
Eminem and Kilpatrick have had a good relationship in the past, and the rapper recently performed at a fundraiser for Detroit's annual Fourth of July fireworks display at the mayor's request.

Ma$e is back
with G-Unit?!?!
In a surprise move, Ma$e popped up on the latest G Unit Radio show on Shade 45 to announce his return to the rap game. In addition, he spoke about religion, slain rapper Big L and a possible album release on G-Unit Records.
Its the music I wanna make, not the music everybody wants me to make, he told DJ Whoo Kid. When asked to elaborate on what that meant he simply said, the Ma$e you know, indicating that Murda Ma$e might be back.
Ma$e also addressed his religious obligations, which were often the topic of conversation upon his first return. At the end of the day, all dudes have God somewhere in their hearts, so lets just put that to the side and do music. He later went on to add: All I need is two inspirational records
the other 16 are going to be Ma$e.
No topic was too sensitive on the satellite radio show and a usually reserved Ma$e had plenty to say. He hinted at having some of his rhymes stolen from former rhyme partner and slain rapper Big L
Big L brought me on the scene and I used to rhyme with him
when they used to do records, God bless the dead they would never put me on the records. But all of the hot lines he was saying, and even in his grave I gotta tell this, those were my lines. I used to say those lines in the park and they would put them out in song.
On his relationship with P. Diddy : Its really nothing personal, I just dont want to be there, he said, referring to Bad Boy Records, and I already proved if I dont feel it I wont work.
So what will Ma$e be like when he comes back? I aint going 50 [Cent] though, Ima be right in between, I aint gon be Usher neither. Look for Ma$e on the upcoming Get Rich or Die Trying soundtrack.

Eminem homecoming rocks in revival fashion (Detroit Review)
In Detroit, it's never just an Eminem concert.
For more than 42,200 fans at Comerica Park, Friday night's visit with rap's reigning figure was more like a giant hip-hop tent revival, minus the tent and with a lot bigger beat. It was the most anticipated concert of the summer season, a homecoming spectacle for one of the globe's biggest stars -- and one of those nights where you didn't need the fireworks finale to prove that you were part of something mammoth and noteworthy.
Kicking off his set 50 minutes after the scheduled 9:10 p.m. start, Eminem took the stage in a crisp dark suit as he rolled into the tongue-tripping rap of "Evil Deeds," one of a host of tunes drawn from last year's "Encore" album.
If there were nerves, they weren't obvious. Reemerging in a white and red tracksuit before his second song, the politically charged "Mosh," Eminem seemed to quickly lock into the momentum of his crowd, appearing coolly upbeat as he and fellow rapper Proof roamed the mammoth stage spanning the baseball stadium's outfield.
Since he crashed into the public consciousness six years ago, Eminem has risen to popular music's top echelon -- both creatively and commercially -- thanks to a smartly conceived mix of cutting lyrics and edgy imagery. At Comerica Park, he displayed much of what he's learned during his tenure on top, commanding the sold-out stadium with a poised presence.
While it's probably impossible to recapture the kinetic energy of his 2003 shows across the street at Ford Field -- a touchstone in Detroit music lore -- Eminem's performance Friday night certainly carried the air of a massive event.
Hordes of concertgoers -- including more than a fair share of families -- began streaming into the downtown entertainment district hours earlier. After making it through opening sets from rappers 50 Cent and Lil Jon, they were clearly primed for the main attraction, letting loose with supersized roars at every "Whaddup, Detroit!"
Comerica Park did sport one advantage over its domed football neighbor: a sound more clear and potent than that of the 2003 shows. Muscular songs such as "Cleaning Out My Closet" and "The Way I Am" kept their robustness, while slinkier material ("Business," "My Name Is") maintained a funky dexterity.
Early on, Eminem addressed talk of his rumored retirement, buzz spawned by a Free Press report last month examining a potential career transformation for the rapper. Launching a skit he's been performing since the tour started five weeks ago, he asked fans about their taste for tabloid media -- a question met by a sea of boos -- before whipping through a series of entertainment magazines and turning to moon the crowd.
While the two-hour concert delivered ample shots of intensity -- most notably the pulsing, show-closing "Lose Yourself" -- the night was dominated by a sort of easygoing, loose spirit. But for Eminem, it seemed to be a night of big emotions. Toward the show's end, he paused briefly to absorb a crowd chant of "Shady! Shady!" After managing to quiet the audience, he hollered out what might have been the night's most earnest declaration: "It's good to be home!"

NICOLE KIDMAN has embarrassed her children by jumping out of her front-row seat at an EMINEM concert at New York City's Madison Square Garden Venue and dancing hip-hop style while grabbing her crotch.
Kidman's children ISABELLA,12, and CONNOR, 10, are mortified by their mother's lewd behaviour and have reportedly begged her never to repeat the action in public.
But Kidman is a huge Eminem fan and friends think it unlikely she will spare their adolescent blushes for long.

Game Signs On To Play Vicious Criminal In 'Waist Deep'
He's already completed The Documentary so now it's time for a feature. Game has signed on to play a vicious criminal leader named Meat in the forthcoming "Waist Deep."
The film, an urban action-thriller written and directed by
Vondie Curtis-Hall ("Redemption," "Gridlock'd," and, er, "Glitter"), already features Tyrese, Meagan Good and Larenz Tate.
"Waist Deep" follows the story of ex-con O2 (Tyrese), who is trying to go straight for the sake of his son. But like so many celluloid ex-cons before him, he's forced to go outside the law one more time, and with good reason: Meat (Game) has carjacked and kidnapped O2's son.
O2's cousin (Tate) is caught between two worlds and proves to be little help, so Coco (Good), a street-smart hustler, steps in. Of course, with an underworld plotline and a woman on the scene, you can expect "Waist Deep" to evoke more than a little "Bonnie and Clyde" romanticism.
Or, to let Tyrese explain the movie in his own words: "It's gonna be an 'L.A.-West-Coast-we-back-in-the-streets' story."
Game made his cinematic debut earlier this year in "Millionaire Boys Club"
"Waist Deep" is slated for release in 2006.

50 Cent under fire for stealing name
Rapper 50 Cent is under fire for stealing his stage name from murdered New York City gangster Kelvin Martin who terrorised the streets of Brooklyn in the 1980s.
The late gangster's family are furious with the superstar rapper, real name Curtis Jackson, because they believe he is capitalising on their family's notoriety.
And now they want a share in the Get Rich Or Die Tryin' star's newfound fortune.
Martin's aunt fumes to the New York Daily News, "I think he's reaping all of the rewards of using the name and not sharing what he's getting."
But the rapper explains, "I took the name 50 Cent because it says everything I want it to say. I'm the same kind of person 50 Cent was. I provide for myself by any means."
And he promises to pay for a memorial to the late gangster in honour of his violent ideologies. He insists, "He'll never be forgotten, I'm dead serious. I'll see to it."

Eminem takes bevy of beautiful models on UK tour
Eminem has chosen a bevy of beautiful models to accompany him everywhere on his UK tour. The foul-mouthed rapper is said to have personally picked the 12 beauties after spending hours flicking through London-based model agency websites. The crowd of lovely ladies will reportedly be on standby to go anywhere the star chooses.
A source said: "Eminem thinks it is all part of his image to be seen with sexy chicks. After a few days of looking at babes online, he has booked 12 of them for his London trip."
Earlier this month it was revealed Eminem has issued a string of diva-like demands for his tour - including huge buckets of KFC chicken and a fully equipped games room.
He is said to have told promoters he wants a "play room" - which "must accommodate eight persons" - complete with a giant TV, a Sony Playstation 2, basketball hoop and a table tennis table.
The 'Ass Like That' singer also told organisers the room must contain specific food and drink items.
A source revealed: "He specifies that he wants two cases of Heineken lager, two bottles of Hennessy cognac and three bottles of Cristal champagne.
"He also wants a 24-piece bucket of KFC and a selection of mixed sweets and chocolates."

50 Cent shines but it's still Eminem's show (Review)
At some point, the protege will undoubtedly overtake the master, but it wouldn't be last night. 50 Cent may be outselling his mentor, but the Anger Management Tour 3 at the Tweeter Center was decidedly Eminem's domain.
This isn't to say 50 Cent simply rolled over. In fact, 50 made quite an entrance, flying down onto the stage in a harness like a thugged-out Peter Pan. But 50 proved to be quite the democratic gangsta rapper, quickly handing over the reins to his G-Unit posse. Young Buck went first, delivering ``Shorty Wanna Ride,'' followed by Lloyd Banks' pyrotechnic ``On Fire,'' where bursts of flame lit up the apocalyptic New York City set design.
If you thought costume changes were reserved for sequined-gowned divas, you haven't yet seen 50 Cent in concert. Changing midset from a tight muscle shirt to a brilliant white suit with matching Panama hat, 50 launched appropriately into the steel drum-laced ``P.I.M.P.''
Unfortunately, too much time was spent on the up-and-coming acts, as the tunes everyone wanted to hear were condensed into mini-songs, with hits like ``In Da Club'' and ``Wanksta'' only getting one verse before moving on to the next.
When the golden boy of hip
